Rev. E. M. Pearson

Rev. Everett Merle Pearson, 80 died Sunday at the Kiowa County Memorial Hospital, Greensburg. Born October 21, 1900 in Wellsville, he married Thelma May Bones, September 7, 1924 at Princeton. He was a retired Baptist minister and has served churches in Leoti, Scott City, Caney, Altamont, Conway Springs, Protection, and Chanute. He moved to Greensburg from Chanute 18 months ago.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Greensburg.

Survivors: widow, of the home; daughter: Mrs. Nina Powers, Gold Beach, Oregon; Mrs. Dorothy Sanders, Greensburg; sisters: Mrs. Mary Carr and Mrs. Alice Brown, both of Apache Junction, Arizona; Mrs. Nora Drum, Baldwin; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Grant Avenue Church, Chanute; the Rev. Gerald Morris and Rev. Dean Endicott was at the Mount Hope Cemetery at Humboldt. Family suggests memorials to the Bacone Orphanage, Muscogee, Oklahoma, in care of the Greensburg State Bank.
