Succumbing to injuries sustained in an accident at the Rock Island yards, last Friday, Charles A. Pinkston, 51, died at the Ninnescah hospital, Monday evening at 5:50 o'clock. His condition had been considered critical throughout the three days and he had been conscious only at times.

He suffered a fractured skull, a broken nose and other injuries when a tank exploded while he was at work in a small sand room. He was never able to answer questions about the accident.

No eye-witnesses were present when the accident occurred and railroad authorities are said to be considering an investigation to determine the cause of the tragedy.

Mr. Pinkston, who was coal and fuel oil forman, moved to Pratt some three years ago from Mullinville, where the family had lived for several years, and where they had many friends.

Besides Mrs. Pinkston, he leaves two daughters and two sons, Mrs. Faye Detwiler, Mrs. Nellie Wilson, Tillman Pinkston, all of Pratt and James H. Pinkston of Monte Vista, Colo. He is also survived by a sister and four brothers, Mrs. Carrie Freshour of Coldwater, John of Pratt, Oscar of Wilmore, Joe of Midway, Tenn., and Willie Kitts of Morristown, Tenn. There are six grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Mullinville, Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. R. A. Brinked of this city. Interment was made in the Mullinville cemetery.
