The people of our city were saddened on last Sunday by the news of the death, in Pecos, Texas, at 12:20 that morning of Lee Powell, son of Rev. and Mrs. E. A. Powell of this city. About four years ago Lee was taken sick, and from that time his health was considered impaired, the cause being valvular trouble. Nearly three weeks ago Mr. and Mrs. Powell and Lee started in their automobile on a trip to the southwest, with the hope that the trip would benefit Lee's health. They went as far as Pecos, Texas. Lee's condition gradually became weaker. The most that loving hands and medical skill could do proved unavailing. The body was brought to Coldwater, arriving here on Tuesday. Funeral services were held at 10 o'clock a.m. on Wednesday in the M. E. church, the pastor, Rev. Ralph W. Wyrick, being in charge. Interment was made in the Coldwater cemetery.

William Lee Powell was born in Perth, Kansas, on August 22, 1891. His age at the time of death was, therefore, 24 years, 2 months and 20 days. He was a young man of unquestioned integrity, honesty of purpose and uprightness of character. He was popular among his associates, and to all there comes a peculiar sense of sadness. Lee was one of the number of young men who were converted in the Rayburn meetings last February and he had lived consistent with the profession he had made. To the sorrowing relatives the sincere sympathy of the entire community is extended. --Western Star.
