Mrs. R. A.. Ramsey died at 11:30 a.m. on July 14, 1925, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Candace Oliver, in Attica, Kans. Burial was made in the Attica cemetery on Wednesday, Rev. Murray, a Christian minister of Avard, Okla., being in charge of the funeral services.Mrs. Ramsey had been in failing health for some time. She suffered several light strokes of paralysis and about two months ago, a much more severe stroke left her almost helpless as well as speechless. She was taken to the home of her daughter in Attica, and all that was possible was done for her. Her condition grew gradually worse, and during the last two weeks of her life she remained in an almost unconscious condition. To her, death had no fears, for she was prepared to die. She had led a christian life for many years. For a time she was a member of the presbyterian church, but later put her membership in the Methodist church. In every way Mrs. Ramsey was a good woman and a faithful wife and mother. Those who knew her never failed to find her a good neighbor and a true friend.
Olive V. Burnell was born in Lee-co., Iowa, on March 12, 1859. At the time of her death she was 66 years, 4 months and 2 days of age. She moved with her parents from Iowa to near Derby in Sedgwick-co., Kansas, in the year 1871. In that city on April 9, 1882, she was united in marriage with R. A. Ramsey, who, with two daughters, survive her. The daughters are Mrs. Candace Oliver of Attica, Kans., and Miss Ollie Ramsey of Jerome, Ariz. One child died in infancy while the family lived in Missouri.
Mr. and Mrs. Ramsey lived near Derby until the spring of 1886, when they moved to Morton-co., Kansas. During the following ten years they lived in succession in Buffalo-co., Nebraska, Polk-co., Missouri and in Miami, Okla. In the year 1897 they moved from Miami to Attica, Kans., and in 1903 they located on a farm two miles southwest of Coy, Okla., where they continued to live until about three years ago, when they moved to this city.
Besides her husband and two daughters, Mrs. Ramsey is survived by two brothers - Dee Burnell, who lives near Coy, and Sanford Burnell, whose home is near Derby. The surviving relatives have the sincere sympathy of all.
