Harry Alonzo Richardson passed away in the Comanche County Hospital Friday morning, August 13, 1971, at the age of 65 years.Funeral services were held at the Hatfield Funeral Home in Coldwater, Kans., on Monday, August 16, 1971, at 2 p.m. Rev. Finis Hodges was in charge of the services.
Larry Hatfield sang "Old Rugged Cross" and "How Great Thou Art," accompanied by Mrs. Hazel McMurray.
Pallbearers were Lester Lenertz, Curtis Unruh, Bob Hackney, Leroy Shelton, Don York, and Robert Stewart.
Honorary pallbearers were Fred Lenertz, Dr. Ronald McCoy, John Deewall, Vertis Swarner, Lloyd Coles, and David Cary.
Interment was in Crown Hill Cemetery, Coldwater, Kans.
Obituary Harry Alonzo Richardson, son of Ammon and Minnie Richardson, was born May 28, 1906 a few miles south of Coldwater. He was united in marriage with Emma Mae Bibb, January 20, 1925. To this union were born seven children, two of whom preceded him in death, Fonda Mae and Gary Allen. Emma Mae was killed in an automobile accident January 7, 1947.
He was a retired rancher and a member of the Methodist church.
He was married to Hazel Boley on January 1, 1965. Survivors include the widow, Hazel; daughters, and sons-in-law Patricia and Ed Dunn, Wilmore; Beverly and Willard Whitney, Haviland; Lonita and Bob Vanderford, San Diego, Calif.; Charla and Ben Gunter, Louisville, Ky; one son, Larry and Mary Richardson, Wichita; also a stepdaughter, Valerie Gates of Coldwater; stepsons, Gary Boley of Ashland, and A. C. Boley, Pratt; 17 grandchildren and three great grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Lucy Parcel of Coldwater, Mrs. Hallie Towner, El Dorado, one brother, Walter Richardson of Greensburg, other relatives and a host of friends.
Alonzo spent his entire life in Comanche county and was always ready to lend a helping hand.
