Owen L. Ring, 77, Succumbs at Home

Was Resident of This County a Number of Years

Owen L. Ring, 77, resident of Wilroads Gardens since 1935, died Sunday at his home. He had been bedfast for the last four years.

Mr. Ring was born in Owen county, Indiana, June 9, 1876. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. LaFayette Ring. The family moved to near Hutchinson when Mr. Ring was four years old. The home later was in Missouri where Mr. Ring was reared. Mr. Ring married Miss Pattie Tate at Columbia, Mo., September 23,1896. They moved to St. John in 1900 and in 1913 moved to a ranch south of Coldwater in Comanche county. They lived there until moving to Wilroads Gardens.

Mr. Ring operated a service station there for a while. His wife is an ordained minister, and Mr. Ring served as her song leader when she conducted services.

Surviving besides the widow, are a son, L. D. Ring of Omaha; a brother, Oren Ring of Los Angeles, two grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Wilroads Gardens Christian church by the Rev. G. A. Gaddis and the Rev. B. M. Hopkins. The body was taken to St. John for burial Thursday. The Hulplue-Swaim Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
