Word reached this city last week of the sad death by drowning of Miss Flossie Rosell in Washington, D. C., where she had been staying for some time. It was stated that death was evidently the result of a suicidal intent. Miss Rosell and her parents were residents of this county for several years previous to 1910. Miss Rosell taught several terms of school in this county, including two terms in the Coldwater district and three terms in the Protection district. After teaching here Miss Rosell attended the Northwestern Oklahoma Normal School in Alva. Later she attended the Colorado State Normal at Greeley. Soon after the World War broke out she went to Washington and accepted a position in one of the departments.

Miss Rosell was an accomplished young lady and won many friends wherever she went. At the time the last report was received here Miss Rosell's body had not yet been found. It does not seem to be known as to what motive prompted Miss Rosell to end her life in this way. It was known, however, that she had been melancholy for some time, in fact for several years she had shown a disposition to brood over some real or imaginary troubles, and evidently her life was not a very happy one of late. Her mother died a few years ago and her father remarried. We understand that he now lives near Alva, Oklahoma.
