The Wilmore News, July 25, 1941.

MRS. CARRIE SHEARER DIES

The passing of Mrs. Carrie Shearer which occurred about 4:00 Thursday morning July 17 brought sadness to the whole Wilmore community as each felt that they had lost a very dear friend. To know her was to love and respect her and the older friends are keenly aware to the fact that never will they find a more faithful and true friend and neighbor.

She dearly loved the church and Sunday School and until illness prevented, was always active in the work of both.

Funeral services were conducted at the Baptist church Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the pastor Rev. R. Pitman in charge.

A quartet composed of Mrs. Cecil Robison, Mrs. Fleta Higgins, Mrs. Donald Waters and Mrs. Arthur Barber sang "Saved By Grace,: "Near to The Heart of God" and "Abide With Me" with Mrs. Lauren Ridge accompanist.

Pall bearers were C. O. Masterson, T. C. Pepperd, C. V. Lott, Warren Day, Charlie Guyer and George Brown.

The many floral offerings were testimonials to the esteem held for Mrs. Shearer.

Burial was made in the Wilmore cemetery.

The News extends sympathy to the bereaved relatives.
