Lena Maud German was born to Mr. and Mrs. Roy German on September 26, 1910, in Stafford County, Kans. She departed from this life in Ashland, Kans., on May 4, 1961, at the age of fifty years, seven months and eight days.She moved to Comanche county at an early age where she resided her remaining years.
She was united in marriage to Glen B. Smalley on May 31, 1930, at Coldwater. Preceding her in death was her father, Roy German, and one brother, Len German.
Survivors are her husband, Glen, two daughters, Meladean Canope of Fountain, Colo., and Shirley Smalley of Junction City, Kans.; one son, Milo, of Liberal, Kans.; her mother, Jane German of Protection; three grandsons and two granddaughters; four sisters, Mrs. Pearl Larson, Melrose Park, Ill., Mrs. Clarence (Nellie) Bardot, Coldwater, Kans., Mrs. Hoy (Inez) Freeman, Clearwater, Kans., and Mrs. Harold (Hazel) Miller, Pryor, Okla., two brothers, Earl German, Pomona, Calif., and Lee German, Sunland, Calif.; two half-brothers, Charley King, Hancock, Iowa and Mason King, Arkansas City, Kans., and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Lena Maud (German) Smalley is buried in the Protection Cemetery.
