Phillip Teter died Saturday, May 6th at about seven o'clock p.m. Phillip Teter was one of the very best young men of this section and his untimely and early death is universally regretted. He was industrious, kindly dispositioned, the mainstay of the aged father and mother, a Christian young man, universally admired and respected, dearly loved and deeply mourned by his loved ones and his intimate friends.Phillip had been at Wichita taking medical treatment for an ailment of some time standing. Feeling that he was getting no relief he went to the home of a sister near Blackwell and a few days later came home. He took to his bed immediately on his arrival home and never left it in the days of life vouched him. His condition rapidly became critical and an operation was performed as a last resort but he never rallied from it affect. The immediate cause of death was intestinal peritonitis.
OBITUARY. Phillip Teter was born August 13, 1887, in Cowley county, Kansas, son of Geo. Teter and wife. He was 28 years, 9 months and 23 days of age at the time of his death. His early life was spent in Cowley county until some few years ago when the family moved to Comanche county, settling near Protection where he has since resided. He early made the Christian profession and lived a sincere and consecrated life. He leaves to mourn his loss, father and mother, three brothers, four sisters and a host of friends. The funeral read by Rev. E. R. Stauffer was held from the family home, Monday, May 8th and interment was made in the local Protection cemetery.
