Charles Lorenzo Thornhill, son of Charles and Adeline Thornhill, was born in Marionville, Missouri on October 5, 1873 and departed this life at his home in Protection, Kansas, October 30, 1955, at the age of 82 years and 25 days after a long illness.He was united in marriage with Bertha Isabel Hubbard in Marionville, Mo., September 25, 1898. On September 25, 1955, they celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary. To this union seven children were born: Charles Thornhill, Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Charity McCain, Fort Worth, Texas; Mrs. Mary Hooven, Napa, Calif.; Jack Thornhill, Redondo Beach, Calif.; and Mrs. Christina Tucker, Coldwater, Kans. Two sons, Leslie R. and Elbert, having preceded him in death.
Mr. Thornhill united with the Protection Baptist Church in 1920.
He leaves to morn his passing, his wife and five children; 15 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; two brothers, Hardly Thornhill, Little Rock, Calif.; and Arlie Thornhill of Pasadena, Califor.; many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
He is buried in the Protection Cemetery, Protection, Kansas.
