Twister Wrecks Buildings
Two barns, granuaries and either buildings were wrecked in a twister that struck nine miles southwest of Hardtner about 12 o'clock Monday.At the Wm. Wimmer farm the twister uprooted a bunch of trees in the yard and filled the driveway with the wreckage, and then proceeded to wreck a garage and tore up part of the barn.
At John Olsen's farm less than a quarter of a mile north, a large barn, a granaury and a wind mill were completely demolished. At neither place was any live stock lost, although at the Wimmer place six calves were found huddled together.
At Lee Spencer's all the out buildings were wrecked.
Hardtner and vicinity received a heavy rain and a smattering of hail, but the electrical storm put several phones out of commission and struck the radio aerial at the Jay Lewis home.
