A very pretty wedding occurred at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 1905, at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. Anna E. Gibson, in Winfield, Kans., the contracting parties being Daniel Warren VonSchriltz of this city and Miss Mae Gibson of Winfield. Rev. W. T. Scott of the First M. E. church, Winfield, performed the ceremony in the presence of a few invited relatives and friends. W. E. Broadie acted as best man and Miss Ora Spoon as bride's maid.The groom is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. B. S. VonSchiltz of this city, and has a wide circle of acquaintances over the county. He is a graduate of the Coldwater High School, class of 1899. During the following school year he taught a term of school, and it was not long thereafter when he manifested an all-absorbing desire to reach higher educational attainments. Consequently, in the fall of 1901 he entered Southwest Kansas College at Winfield. As a student he at once took high rank, and during his four years course, which was completed a few weeks ago, he made a record of which any one might justly be proud. His success has been won by constant perseverance, unflagging industry and strict devotion to high ideals of life and conduct. No worthier young man has ever gone forth from Comanche-co, than Warren VonSchriltz, and his many friends here will continue to watch with much interest his advancing career.
The bride is one of Winfield's worthiest young ladies. She is a talented musician and is esteemed by all for her amiable disposition, her charming personality and her genuine womanly qualities. Her father, Miles Gibson, now deceased, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Gibson, formerly of Protection, but now of Winfield.
Mr. and Mrs. VonSchriltz have every reason, as they enter upon married life, to be hopeful and happy, for to them belong the noblest of life's ambitions and promises as well as the sincere good wishes of a host of friends.
Mr. and Mrs. VonSchriltz started Wednesday night for Lake Geneva, Wis., where they will spend a few weeks attending an International Y. M. C. A. conference. Some time in July they will visit for a short time in Comanche-co., returning about August 1 to Winfield where they will make their home. In the early fall Mr. VonSchriltz will take up his work for the State Young Men's Christian Association.
