William Fletcher White, aged 67 years and 10 months, died at 4:10 p.m. on last Monday, August 10, at the home of his son, Harry White, near this city, after a brief illness resulting from an attack of asthma and of heart trouble. Burial was made at 3 p.m. on Wednesday in the local cemetery, following funeral services which were conducted in the M. E. church and which were in charge of Rev. J. B. Handy.

Mr. White was a native of Indiana, having been born in Tippecanoe-co., that state, on October 10, 1857. He moved from Indiana to Kansas in the year 1876, and years later was united in marriage with Miss Anna Clark, who preceded him in death on February 12, 1901. Four sons and three daughters blessed the union. One son and one daughter have died during the past 15 years. The surviving children are: Mrs. Chlo Prichard of Pierceville, Kans.; Mrs. Grace Hoffman of Wichita; Will White of Copeland, Kans.; Harlan White of Newport, Rhode Island; and Harry White of this county. All except Mrs. Prichard were present at the funeral. Two sisters and one brother, and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.

Mr. White was a good citizen, a faithful father and a true friend. He has been a member of the Methodist Episcopal church for 53 years. Since the death of his wife, 24 years ago, he had made his home among his children, coming to this county last spring. The sympathy of all is extended to the bereaved relatives.
