Mrs. Clarence Williams, aged 46 years, died at 6:25 a.m. on Monday of this week at the home of her brother, Grover Gwinn, in Wichita. She had been in failing health for nearly two years, the cause of her sickness being internal cancer. She went to Wichita about three weeks ago from her home in Preston, Kansas, but she was unable to find relief for her affliction. She endured her suffering uncomplainingly and with realization that she was fully prepared for the event of death. Burial was made in Conway Springs on Wednesday by the side of her father, who died several years ago.Mr. and Mrs. Williams were residents of Coldwater for several years prior to 1916, and were well known here. She was a member of the M. E. church and had been an active worker therein for many years. She was a faithful wife and mother and a good neighbor and a friend to all. She is survived by her husband and by two sons and two daughters, as follows: Mrs. Marie Farney of Blackwell, Okla., Charles Williams of Pratt, Lawrence Williams of Wichita, and Esther, who is still at the parental home in Preston.
Before her marriage, Mrs. Williams was Miss Emma Hope Gwinn. Her brother, Grover, lived in Coldwater for a few years. Two other brothers, Will and Earl Gwinn, also survive. The bereaved relatives have the sympathy of all.
