Mrs. Alex Yauk of the Charleston, Oklahoma community died at her home four miles north of that place on Tuesday night, August 20th, death coming during childbirth, the little one also joining its mother in death.

Mrs. Yauk was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rhinhart Yauk, also of the Charleston community. She had been raised in this country, and little more than a year ago was married to Mr. Alex Yauk, a young farmer, who a little more than two years ago came to that section from Canada, and bought three quarters of land from the Crisson brothers, and there he and his young wife were building their home. The loss of his companion is a severe blow to him in his young manhood, and the deepest sympathies of the community are with him in his sorrow.

Beside her husband and her parents, Mrs. Yauk leaves to mourn her untimely departure two brothers, and three sisters. Will Yauk of Manhatten, who is in the service of his country, Mrs. John Krantz of Charleston, Martin Yauk and Clara and Helena Yauk, the last three being at home with their parents.

The funeral was held Thursday afternoon at the Roswell Lutheran church, the funeral sermon being preached by Rev. H. _. Beck, who preached in two languages, both English and German, there being many of the older residents of the community who do not understand English.
