The Western Star, April 30, 1920.

DEATH OF MRS. J. T. YOUNG

Mrs. John T. Young died at 9:30 p.m. on April 6, 1920, in a hospital in Cherokee, Okla., after an illness of several months resulting from cancer of the stomach and liver. Her long suffering was borne with patience and when it became evident that she could not survive, she expressed perfect composure and a readiness to pass into her future inheritance. Burial was made in Alva, following services which were conducted by Rev. Kellenis of the Alva Christian church.

Deceased who before her marriage was Miss Frances W. Norse, was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on May 20, 1860, and at the time of her death was 59 years, 10 months and 17 days of age. On January 18, 1898, near Medicine Lodge, Kans., she was united in marriage with John T. Young, who survives her. No children were born to the union. The only other near relative is a sister, Mrs. Matt Mawson, whose home is now in New Jersey. In 1899 Mr. and Mrs. Young moved to Comanche-co., and lived here for a little over three years, Mr. Young being employed most of the time by S. A. DeLair. In 1902 Mr. and Mrs. Young moved to Woods-co., Oklahoma, 14 miles north of New Freedom, and there they continued to live, building up a good home on their half section of land.

Mrs. Young was well known to many Comanche-co. people. She and her husband frequently visited this city. All who knew her held her in high esteem as a good woman and loyal friend. The bereaved husband has the sympathy of all in his great affliction.
