Bank in November, 1890.  He was a delegate to the state convention in 1892 and supported Farmer Smith for governor.  They have one child, Susannah Ruth, born December 12, 1891.  Married in 1881 ten years before the advent of Ruth, it will be seen that ample deliberation was indulged in to have her the handsomest child in Norton, a popular opinion too with good foundation for it; but some say Billy started the opinion himself.

Adam Campbell was born in Kentucky March 8, 1823; moved with his parents to Missouri in 1830, moved to Mills county, Iowa, in 1854; was one of the first settlers in that county and deeded first section of land ever patented in Mills county.  He spent his entire life hunting and trapping in winter and farming in summer.  He came to Norton county Kansas, in the spring of 1874 and settled on the old Nick Barnet claim three miles south-east of Oronoque.

Mr. Campbell never had any education, can not read nor write, but if anyone thinks he is not able to do business let him tackle him for trade and they will find that his mathematics are equal to any emergency.  He has no trouble to count money either, although he does not know A from B.
