STANDLEY, ROBINSON, RICHMOND
I am researching the family of James Orville Standley (1900-1982) and Daisy (Robinson) Standley (1901-1995), from the Cheyenne Community of Delhi or Jackson Township, Osborne County, Kansas. Orville and Daisy lived nearly their entire lives on the original Standley family homestead, farming the land that was handed down through his father -- Bluford Lafayette (BL) Standley (1866-1962), from his grandfather, James Standley (dates unk). Orville and Daisy had three sons -- James Robert (Bob), Roland Leo, and John Bluford (JB). I have good records of the family from Orville and Daisy to the present. I am interested in tracing the family history from BL and his wife Emma (Richmond) backward. Thanks in advance.

STANDLEY, ROADHOUSE, SENTI, KAUP
Looking for any information on the STANDLEY surname. (father James Robert Standley, grandfather James Orville Standley, greatgrandfather Bluford Lafayette Standley) All settled in, farmed in, worked in Osborne County. Greatgrandfather Bluford Lafayette Standley actually took part in the Oklahoma Land Rush, but didn't like Okla. so came back to Osborne. Also looking for info on surname ROADHOUSE. (Mother's maiden name; her father Ralph R. Roadhouse, his father on his mother's side was surname SENTI; my grandmother on mother's side comes from surname KAUP). I know the KAUP name originated in Switzerland (pretty sure) and immigrated in 1800's. Greatgrandfather KAUP had farmstead just outside of town of Osborne, as did the ROADHOUSE family. STANDLEY family had farmstead nearer Lucas.

BARNES, MCLAIN, WINTERS
The Glen & Rosye Barnes family (Glen Jr, Lloyd, Garry) ran the Blue Bird Cafe in Portis around 1946 till 1951. Glen Jr graduated 1951, Lloyd 1952, Garry went to Portis in the first and second grade. Rosye had a sister Fanny & Ernest McLain (Punky, Buck & Jack). I think Punky lives in Denver, Buck is a teacher somewhere in South-West Kansas, Jim was with the school in Bennington & Jack lives in Gaylord, I believe. I have lost contact with all people from Portis since I left there in 1952, and have only returned a copuple of times. Mother's parents also lived in Portis (Ed and Hazel Winters). Any info on this group would be very nice.

COBB, HARVEY, SMITH
I am looking for information on the family of Thomas and Elizabeth (Harvey) Cobb, who are believed to have moved to Osborne or one of the neighbouring counties, in the late 1880's or 1890's. They came from Prince Edward Island, Canada, and it is believed that Mrs. Cobb's two brothers - William and Joseph Harvey lived nearby. Thomas and Elizabeth (Harvey) had at least three daughters - Janet B., Ethel M., and Bessie and one son - name unknown - who died in action in 1918, while fighting in World War I. Little else is known about the family, except that one of the daughters married Ira Smith, and was living in Osborne City, in 1919. Thomas died in 1917, but it is not known if he was still living in Kansas at the time of his death. Even the smallest bit of information on this family would be greatly appreciated!

BRADSHAW, ROBINSON,
I am looking for information in the Osborne County area of Kansas. My Mother was born at Covert, Ks. Her Father was Joel Washburn Bradshaw. He was married to Ethel Robinson. Her parents were Alonzo Marshall Robinson and Sally Alvira Robinson. Joel Wasburn Bradshaw's parents were Joel Quitman Bradshaw and Esther O. Bradshaw. AS I understand the story that has been passed on to me, Joel Quitman Bradshaw and 5 of his brothers and sisters, and their spouses settled in the Covert area of Osborne County. Several of the orginal family members are burried at the Cedar Bluff Cemetary. Cedar Bluff Cemetary is Southwest, I believe, of the site where Colvert used to be. I would appreciate any information that might be found. Thank You MEb
