The Protection Post, August 15, 1912.

OBITUARY

John R. Ambrose was born at Sweetwater, Tenn., July 26, 1888 and died at the St. Francis Hospital at Wichita, Kansas, Aug. 7, 1912, aged 24 years and 12 days. Prior to coming to Protection he was a student at the T. M. I. College at Sweetwater, Tenn., but was forced to give up his college work because of failing health within a short time of graduating and came to Protection in hope of improving his health. He was greatly beloved by his friends, teachers, and college chums.

His health did not respond to either treatment or climate conditions and early in the spring he went to the hospital at which he died.

The body was shipped to Protection and the funeral services over it were conducted by Rev. Shields assisted by Rev. Umberger at the M. E. Church in Protection.

He leaves to mourn his loss his mother, and other relatives as well as a host of friends.

The body was laid to rest in the local cemetery.

Card of Thanks

I wish to extend my heartfelt thanks and gratitude to those friends in and around Protection who were so kind during the death of my beloved son. I thank all for their kindness during those hours of sad bereavement.

Mrs. M. A. Ambrose.
