P. A. BARBER PASSES AWAY AFTER OPERATION

P. A. Barber was taken to the Galloway Hospital in Anthony Saturday morning and was operated on Saturday evening for appendicitis.

Mr. Barber's appendix had ruptured before he went to the hospital and poisoning set in which caused his death Sunday. He had been sick less than a week before his death.

Mrs. Barber and Oscar were in Anthony with Mr. Barber.

The body was brought back to Wilmore Tuesday and the funeral services were conducted from the Baptist Church Tuesday afternoon with Rev. J. P. Woods in charge.

The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the family in this hour of their sore bereavement.

OBITUARY

Perry Arthur Barber was born July 24, 1887, near Rush Center, Kansas, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Barber. At the age of 12 he moved with his parents to a homestead near Carmen, Oklahoma. They later moved back to Kansas and lived near Greensburg.

He was united in marriage with Miss Lena Barber, at Greensburg July 24, 1906. He has lived near Greensburg and Wilmore since that time except for seven years spent on a farm near Freedom, Oklahoma.

To this union were born four children, Arthur, Floyd, Oscar, and Maxine. Floyd preceded his father in death in August, 1932.

Mr. Barber was converted in March, 1915, in a meeting at Cobb school held by Rev. Stafford and joined the Baptist Church in Wilmore.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lena Barber, two sons, Arthur and Oscar, one daughter, Maxine, his father, F. L. Barber, two brothers, Harry and Fred of Colorado, two sisters, Mrs. Viola Barber of Oklahoma, and Mrs. Carrie Taylor of Colorado, two daughters-in-law, Helen and Roberta Barber, two granddaughters, Donna Jean and Elaine Barber, and one grandson, Crawford Allen Barber.

He passed away September 18, 1933 at the Anthony hospital at the age of 46 years, 1 month and 24 days.

Funeral was held at the Baptist Church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in charge of Pastor John P. Woods. A male quartet consisting of H. W. Bergen, Joe Woods, Earl Bigbee and Valtos Richardson.

The body was laid to rest in Wilmore cemetery.
