Mamie Elizabeth Giles was born April 14, 1878, near Wichita, Kansas. She was married Jan. 5, 1897, to Milton A. Bonham, and to this union have been born six children, Mable, Hazel, Willie, Floyd, Marjorie and Ora, all of whom are living. Bedside these children she leaves to mourn her departure her husband, her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Giles, four sisters, one brother, and many relatives, as well as a host of friends. Several years ago she came with her husband to Protection and here they settled upon the farm in the Lower Bluff Creek neighborhood southwest of town, where she died at the family home on Wednesday, August 14, 1918, after a long illness from typhoid fever and other complications. In early life Mrs. Bonham became a Christian living a consistent Christian life, and since its organization had been a member of the Protection Church of Christ.The funeral was held last Friday afternoon, conducted by her pastor, N. S. Franklin, and interment was made in the Protection cemetery.
