The people of Wilmore and vicinity were shocked the first of the week to learn that Dan Fisher, a former and well-known resident of that city, was killed in an accident which occurred in Springer, New Mexico, on last Saturday. Dan was driving his truck across the railroad and evidently did not notice the near approach of the train. The truck was struck by the train and completely demolished. Mr. Fisher was killed outright. The body was brought to Wilmore, this county, where burial was made on Wednesday afternoon.Deceased was about 68 years of age at the time of his death. His youthful days were spent in Wilson-co., this state. For 20 years or more he was a near neighbor of the senior editor of the Star. A number of years age he and his family moved to Bucklin, Kans., where they lived for several years, moving from there to Wilmore, where they lived until a few years ago, when they moved to their ranch near Abbott, New Mex.
Mr. Fisher had considerable real estate holdings in and near Wilmore, also in New Mexico. He was a business man of more than ordinary ability, and won success in nearly all of his undertakings. He was honorable in his dealings, thoughtful of the interests of others and, in every respect, a good citizen. He is survived by his wife and by three sons, Archie, Flake and Cecil, and by one daughter, Mrs. E. N. Redfield, of Wilmore. They have the sincere sympathy of many friends in their sad bereavement.
Octia Fisher, daughter of Dan Fisher, wife of Earl N. Redfield.
