Elva Violet Thompson was born at Kinsley, Kan., Dec. 17, 1908, and departed this life at Lamar, Colo., September 26, 1932. She was united in marriage to O. J. Hale, August 8, 1925, at Coldwater, Kan. To this union two sons were born. They are Robert, 6, and Richard Arlen, 10 months. Beside the husband and two children she leaves her mother, Mrs. Blanche Hall, and step father, Hurst Hall, one sister,Mrs. Lester Booth , of Wilmore; one half-brother, Richard Hall, and two half-sisters, Helen and Elsie May Hall.They resided near Coldwater and Wilmore until about two years ago when they last went to Springfield, Colo., to make their home. While residing here she attended Wilmore high school for some time. She united with the Christian church in Coldwater of which she was a member when called to her eternal reward.
She was a loving faithful wife and mother, being possessed of a loving happy disposition she made many friends wherever she went.
When she undertook a task she always went into it whole heartedly and got results, she was never idle. As a girl she was industrious helping her mother in the home and lending every assistance to her stepfather. She was fond of outdoor life - riding, fishing and other outdoor activities.
She obtained her grade school education by riding horseback four miles to school. She was an excellent student, always receiving above the average grades, and was loved and admired by her teachers and school mates.
Funeral services were conducted from the Christian Church in Wilmore Thursday afternoon with Rev. A. R. Brown of Coldwater in charge.
Mrs. Martin Zerby and Mrs. Earl Guizlo furnished the music with Miss Martha Safford at the piano. Interment was in the Wilmore cemetery.
