Reubin L. Hecht, who had been a resident of Comanche county since 1910, was found dead last Saturday evening when his son, John, of this city went to his home for a visit.Mr. Hecht had been in about his usual health and had urged his wife to go to Colorado to meet some of her children who were unable to make the trip to Coldwater, so she was in Denver at the time of his passing.
Apparently Mr. Hecht had, following his custom, arisen early and had fixed his breakfast, then waited for the morning paper to be delivered. When he was found he was still sitting in his favorite chair with the paper nearby. It is thought that he was stricken by a heart attack as he dozed.
Funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church in this city at 10 o'clock a.m. Tuesday, September 3, and were in charge of the pastor, Rev. Lyle H. Gilliham. Mrs. Frank Weber sang "Going Down the Valley" and "I Won't Have to Cross Jordan Alone," accompanied by Mrs. E. H. Gregg, organist.
The honorary pallbearers were Lee Finney, Cliff Smith, John Littell, John Shimer, Abe Robinson and Frank McMillen and the pallbearers were Rob Gilchrist, Carl McVey, Victor Willard, Paul Kropf, Forest Smith and Leo Nicholas. Interment was in Crown Hill cemetery.
