OBITUARY OF JOHN WILLIAM HOLLER

John William Holler, son of James and Phoebe Holler was born March 4, 1874, at Sparland, Illinois. He died April 1, 1961 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Randolph Wolken of Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of 87 years. Mr. Holler had been ill for several years and suffered s stroke on February 4, 1961.

He moved to Chase, Kansas when a small boy with his parents. In 1900, he moved to Stafford, Kansas. He was married in 1902 to Gertrude Zenor and they moved to a farm south of Ashland, Kansas.

His wife, Gerturde died at May, Oklahoma, January 31, 1917, a few hours after the birth of their son, Billie. He was later adopted by Mr. and Mrs. William Mitchell.

In 1917 Mr. Holler and his children moved to a farm south of Protection and lived with his father.

His daughter, Viva, died in 1921 at the age of 14 years.

In the fall of 1922 he was married to Mary Bobcock. To this union one son, John, was born. Mary died May 17, 1924.

He leaves to mourn his passing three sons: Berlin of Kalisbell, Montana, Carl of Kansas City, Missouri, John of San Leando, California; two daughters, Phoebe Wolken of Lebanon, Missouri, Leora Greenstreet of Glen Falls, Idaho; one brother, Robert Holler of Ashland, Kansas; two sisters: Mrs. Margaret Strohmeyer of Happy, Texas, Jane German, Protection, Kansas; 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren besides a host of other relatives and friends.

FUNERAL HERE FOR J. W. HOLLER

Funeral services for J. W. Holler who passed away in Lebanon, Mo., April 1, 1961 were held in the Protection Methodist Church Wednesday, April 5, 1961. Mr. Douglas Sloan, minister of the church, officiated at the service.

Pallbearers were Glen Smalley, Clarence Bardot, Hoy Freeman, Don German, Robert Lee German and Milo Clark.

The men's quartet of the Mennonite Church sang two numbers, "In Times Like These" and "Beautiful Land". Mrs. Truman Selzer was the pianist.

Interment was in the Protection Cemetery. Holman Funeral Home of Lebanon, Mo., had charge of arrangements.
