Memorial Day

At The Memorial Day services on Tuesday, Prof. J. S. Carson of Wichita delivered a fine Memorial address. After the services the assembled citizens formed a line of march to the cemetery. The first vehicles had nearly reached the cemetery when the last ones were leaving the Presbyterian church. Following is a list of the old soldiers who are buried in the Coldwater cemetery: J. E. Stuckey, B. M. Veatch, John Ray, G. W. Maynard, Charles Bickford (first soldier buried in the county), Henry Fritz, David Cole, Eli Crites and W. H. McLaughlin.

Note: the above list is incomplete. For a more complete list, see: Civil War Veterans of Comanche County, Kansas.
