The Western Star, July 24, 1903.

Margaret Ethel (Weddle) Smith

DIED.
Smith - At her home in Protection, Kansas, on Thursday, July 16, 1903, Mrs. Margaret Ethel Smith, aged 19 years, 1 month and 18 days.

The deceased was born on May 22, 1884, in Bates-co., Missouri. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Weddle, of Powell-tp., this county. On October 24, 1900, she was united in marriage to W. L. Smith who with an 18 month old child, survives her. Funeral services were conducted at 5 p.m. on Friday. Rev. A. Burill, of the U. B. church, had charge of the services and made a brief but very appropriate and impressive talk, using as his text Jer. 15:9.

Interment was made in the Protection cemetery.

Mrs. Smith had been sick about 12 days. Her sickness began with an attack of some form of fever, but the fever finally almost disappeared and a severe case of inflammation of the bowels set in, and from this cause death resulted. Her parents, two sisters, the husband and the child were present when death occurred. To them the sincere sympathy of many kind neighbors and friends is extended.

Cora (Weddle) HUFFT, sister of Margaret Ethel Smith.

Hannah Elsie (Weddle) KILLILLAY, , sister of Margaret Ethel Smith.
