Obituary Oliver Bruce Snare was born on February 24, 1880, at Fairfield, Ind., and departed this life on Monday, November 2, 1942, in a hospital at Dodge City, Kansas. He was the fifth son of Oliver Perry Snare and Amanda Snare. His parents moved from Indiana to Illinois, and after a short stay there, they moved, in the year 1886, to Wilmore, Kansas.
Bruce lived in Kansas City for two years, and also spent some time in Tacoma, Washington.
On February 1, 1912, he was united in marriage with Miss Lillie Jenkins. The two years after their marriage were spent in Chicago, and the balance of his life was spent in Comanche county.
In 1913, Bruce united with the Baptist church in Wilmore.
Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers and one sister. He is survived by his faithful, devoted wife and three brothers, and will be greatly missed by a multitude of friends, especially the young people of our town, with whom he spent much of his time by reason of his work. He was a faithful member of the church, having taught the Men's Bible Class for a number of years, until his health became such as to prevent his continuing in that capacity.
Bruce was custodian at the Wilmore high school for 16 years, and continued that service until about three weeks before his death.
