Lila Carol Trummel

Lila Carol Trummel, 61, died Oct. 15, 1997, at Protection Valley Manor.

She was born May 13, 1936, on a farm north of Protection to George William and Ruth Hulda (Baker) Williams.

Lila was a 1953 graduate of Protection High school. A lifetime Comanche County resident, she was an assistant cashier at the Wilmore State bank. She belonged to Wilmore Federated church, the WSCS, and had served as church treasurer, all at Wilmore.

On May 27, 1956, she married Weldon Trummel at Shawnee. He died Feb. 8, 1990.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Jolynn Trummel.

Survivors include: four daughters, Janelle Trummel of Westmoreland, Kelly Trummel and Susan Koger, both of Wilmore, and Luann Wellborn of Hutchinson; a brother, Dean Williams of Ulysses; two sisters, Marlene Stanfield of Wichita, and Linda Graue of Guymon, Okla.; a granddaughter, and a step granddaughter.

Funeral was Oct. 19, 1997, at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home in Coldwater, with Rev. Barbara Palmer presiding. Burial was in Wilmore cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to the Wilmore Community Fund in care of the funeral home.
