Obituary

Ollie Harry Ward was born to William and Sarah Ann Ward March 16, 1893, at Saffordville, Chase county, Kansas, and departed this life in the Kiowa District Hospital March 18, 1960, at the age of 67 years and two days.

After the death of his father in 1895, when Ollie was two years of age, the mother brought the five children to Comanche county to make their home. She passed away in 1907.

Mr. Ward was united in marriage with Cora Elizabeth Carter January 11, 1911, at Medicine Lodge, Kans. They lived their entire married life in or around Wilmore.

To this union were born nine children, three dying in infancy. Mr. Ward's wife died June 22, 1959, which left him very lonely. Even though his health wasn't the best, he worked until he took ill and entered the hospital.

Left to mourn his passing are the six sons - Floyd of Sun City, Lloyd of Coldwater, Merton of Ashland, John of Great Bend, Paul of Kiowa and Ralph of Hazelton, Kans.; six daughters-in-law, 10 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters - Mrs. Callie Mooney and Mrs. Florence Elliott, both of Hutchinson, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Three brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

Ollie accepted the Lord as his personal Savior in 1926, he and his wife becoming charter members of the Assembly of God at Coldwater. They remained constant and faithful members of their church and enjoyed their responsibility of preparing the communion service each month.

John L. Ward, brother of Oliver H. Ward.
