Donald E. Waters Dies in Wichita

Donald E. Waters, 47, passed away Friday in Wesley hospital in Wichita following a long illness. Mr. Waters was a life-long resident of Kiowa county. He had been in failing health for the past five and one-half years. Mr. Waters owned and operated the Greensburg Highway Cafe and Motel for several years. He had served as Sheriff and deputy of Kiowa county from 1943 to 1948.

He was born September 2, 1910, in Wilmore. He was a member of the Baptist church, IOOF Lodge, National Sheriff's Assn., and a former member of the Civil Aeronautics Assn.

He is survived by his widow, Katherine; two sons, David and John of the home; and two daughters, Anne and Martha, of the home.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 10, at 2:00 p.m. in the Greensburg Baptist church with interment at Wilmore.
