DEATH OF THOS. WILLIAMS

Thomas Ethelred Williams passed away about 6 a.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 1939, at the home of T. C. Bibb in this city, following an illness of several weeks. Funeral services were held at the Christian church in this city at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, and were in charge of the pastor, Rev. Olen F. Boyd. Leroy and Raymond Cline sang "In the Garden," "In The Sweet Bye and Bye," and "Going Down the Valley." The pall bearers were four of Mr. William's nephews Tom Willard and Guy Williams of Medicine Lodge, and Fay and Clo Willard of Ashland; also Claude and Charles Bibb, distant relatives of this city. Burial was in Crown Hill cemetery.

Obituary

Thomas E. Williams, son of Thomas and Mary Jane Williams, was born near Unionville, Putnam county, Mo., December 3, 1859, and passed away May 16, 1939, at Coldwater, Kans., at the age of 79 years, 5 months and 13 days.

At the age of six years he moved with his parents in Taylor county, Iowa, where he grew to manhood. In the spring of 1891 he moved with his parents to Comanche county, settling on Mule Creek in the eastern part of the county, where he resided until 2 years ago, when he moved to this city. Mr. Williams never married, and led a retiring life. He was respected by all who knew him.

He was a member of the Masonic order for 50 years, being affiliated with Comanche Lodge No. 295 of Coldwater.

Mr. Williams is survived by two brothers, James M. Williams of Lake City and John M. Williams, whose address is unknown; also by one sister, Dr. Willa A. Willard, of Gillette, Wyoming and by a number of other friends. His father passed away in 1901 and his mother in 1937. --Western Star.
