The Wilmore News, July 10, 1919.

George Wade Wright

YOUNG CHILD DROWNS

The sad news of the drowning of one of Frank Wright's children was phoned to Wilmore last Saturday evening. Their youngest child, George Wade Wright, was playing about in the yard at their home northwest of town that evening with the other children of the family when he wandered away from the rest of them to a pond a few yards from the house and in some unknown way fell into the pond and was drowned. He had been gone but a few minutes when his mother missed him and at once began to search for him and went almost immediately to the pond where she found the little fellow lying in the water. The neighbors were called in and the doctor called at once and the mother did everything possible to resuscitate the little one, but evidently life was extinct before he was found. Mr. Wright had been in town that evening and was on his way home when the news reached him.

George Wade Wright was born on March 30, 1918; died July 5th, 1919, age one year, three months and five days.

The funeral services were held in the Christian church in Wilmore at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 6th, and burial was made in the Wilmore cemetery. Rev. Abernathy, pastor of the Methodist church preached the funeral sermon.

The entire community extend expressions of sympathy to Mr. and Mrs. Wright in their sad bereavement.

CARD OF THANKS

We wish to express our sincere thanks to our friends and neighbors for their kindness, sympathy and help during the death and burial of our beloved baby; also for the beautiful floral offerings.
