Miss Annie Cline, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Cline, was born in Philadelphia, Penn., July 12, 1872, and passed away in the Comanche County Hospital in Coldwater June 15, 1954, at the age of 81 years, 11 months and 3 days.

She came to Kansas with her parents as a mere infant and lived in the small settlement of Wendell, half-way between Kinsley and Greensburg, the town now being extinct.

Miss Cline proved up a claim in Morton county, Kansas, and attended Winfield College several terms. She spent most of her life in and around Coldwater and taught in several districts, among them being Tin Top, New Home and the McDonald district; also in the Jarnagin district where a ranch house was used as a school house in the early days.

She also served one term or two years as County Treasurer of this county. She was a devoted member of the Christian church and lived an exemplary life.

Miss Cline is survived by one brother, Frank Cline of Salem, Ore.; a sister, Mrs. Laura Lemon, of Kansas City, Kans.; three nephews, Charles, James and Victor Allderdice of Coldwater and a niece, Mrs. Flo Hazard, of Long Beach, Calif.
