Obituary Russell Fay Cline, son of J. R. and Gloria Cline, was born June 2, 1956 at Coldwater, Kans., and departed this life December 6, 1979 near Plentywood, Montana in a car accident. He was 23 years, 6 months and 4 days old.
He was a graduate of Coldwater high school, class of 1974. He attended the University of Southern Colorado at Pueblo for three and one half years. At the time of his death he was employed by Western Geophysical and was stationed at Plentywood, Montana.
He was a member of the Coldwater Christian church, baptized on his 12th birthday.
Russell was an excellent student and had many and varied interests. He had many college hours in Mass Communications (TV and Radio), electronics, psychology, photography, business administrations and botany. He was more interested in learning than in acquiring titles or degrees. He worked two years at the educational channel television as program director. And when the University wanted to have its own FM radio station, Russell did the electronic work and started and built up the station, in connection with his schooling, and for a time was a disc jockey there. He loved the out-of-doors so was really enjoying his work with Western Geophysical.
Survivors include his parents, J. R. and Gloria Cline; one sister, Rhonda; his grandmother, Vertie Wilson, all of Coldwater; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends. And a special friend, Juanita Butkovich at Pueblo, Colo.

In the background can be seen the Grade School, auditorium and Jr. High (old high school) sections. The auditorium and Jr. High sections have since been torn down. The Grade School section remains, and is used by Measurement Inc. The open area left to the north is now a playground."
