Obituary

Joshua Crowe, son of Ira and Martha Crowe, was born October 11, 1847, at Salem, Ind., and passed from this life at the home of a son, Guy W. Crowe, at Coldwater, Kansas, on September 21, 1947, at the age of 100, save 20 days.

Joshua Crowe was married to Sarah Alice Kendall on August 8, 1871, at Mound City, Kansas. To this union were born eight children, four of which preceded him in death: namely, Carl J. Crowe, John E. Crowe, Mrs. R. E. Burkhall and Mrs. Harry Flooke.

He was also preceded in death by his good wife, who passed away on January 17, 1895.

From an early age, Joshua Crowe showed an interest in the church and in matters of spiritual nature and lived a lifetime of devout Christianity. He was given to love and patience; and even though he was partially blind for many years, there was never a murmur of complaint that went from his lips for any thing. From an early age he was affiliated with the Methodist church.

He is survived by four sons; David Crowe of Coldwater, Daniel E. Crowe of Coldwater, and Jasper C. Crowe of Wichita, 23 grandchildren, a number of great-grandchildren, and a host of friends.

The Star wishes to extend sincere regrets and sympathy to the sorrowing relatives and friends.
