On Saturday the 20 inst., Mrs. Mary Davis, wife of P. O. Davis, (associate editor of the Enterprise) who had been lying ill for several days quietly breathed her last. Mrs. Davis was a member of the United Brethren church of this place; was of a modest retiring disposition, and possessed a noble christian spirit, she was a fond mother and an affectionate companion, in her death her husband has lost a jewel of rare value. On Sunday following a large congregation gathered at the U. B. church to pay their last respects to the departed friend. The funeral services conducted by our worthy townsman J. W. McWilliams, were solemn and impressive after services the congregation slowly and sadly followed the remains to their last resting place in the cemetery near our city. The husband, child and relatives have the sympathy of the entire community in their dark hour of bereavement.
