Funeral was scheduled this afternoon (Thursday, February 22, 1996) for Harold F. Edmonston of Protection.He died on Monday, February 19, at Pratt, Kansas, Regional Medical Center. He lived to the age of 88 years.
Harold was born on May 26, 1907, north of Protection. His parents were Orley M. and Edna (Snell) Edmonston.
A retired farmer and stockman, Harold was a lifetime area resident. He attended Prairie Queen rural school, located northeast of Protection.
On May 26, 1930, at Bucklin, he married Helen A. Eubank. She is among his survivors.
Other survivors include two sons, Donald of Greensburg and Myron of Protection; one daughter, Melba Swanson of Ashland; two brothers, Paul of Protection and Granville of Sedgewick, Kansas; nine grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by both parents, a brother Elmer, and a sister, Ivah Rash.
Funeral this afternoon was to be at the First Baptist Church in Protection, with the Reverends Herb Flinkman and Rod Young officiating. Burial was to be in the Protection cemetery.
Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home of Coldwater was in charge of arrangements.
Memorials for Harold F. Edmonston may go to the Comanche County Ambulance, the Comanche County Hospital or to Protection Valley Manor Nursing Home. The memorials should be sent in care of the funeral home at Box 416, Coldwater, Kansas 67029.
