James Leslie Finney Found Dead at Home

Services Held Thursday In Hatfield Funeral Home

Leslie (Bud) Finney of this city was found dead at his home late Tuesday afternoon by Charley Nielson, a neighbor. A doctor was called and it was determined that he had been dead five to six hours.

Several months ago he suffered a stroke which affected his throat and he had difficulty talking and in swallowing.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Hatfield Funeral Home in Coldwater and were in charge of Rev. Carl A. Grondorf, pastor of the Presbyterian Church.

Raymond Cline, with Mrs. Frances Burkhall as accompanist, sang "In the Garden" and "Rock of Ages."

Pallbearers were John Deewall, Harry Nicholson, David Cary, Leroy Deewall, Merle Bowman and W. N. Parsons.

Graveside services were in charge of the Wm. H. Finney V. F. W. Post No. 7640 and interment was in Crown Hill cemetery.

Obituary

James Leslie Finney, was born on September 3, 1899, in Alva, Okla., and passed away in Coldwater, Kans., September 22, 1959, at the age of 60 years and 19 days. He served for a while in the Army in World War II.

Survivors are four brothers: Lee and Earl of Coldwater, Carl of Haviland, Kans., and Bob of Chico, Calif.; and three sisters: Mrs. Willa Stalcup and Mrs. Elida Uselman of Coldwater and Mrs. Hazel Carter of Tulsa, Okla.

Burial was in Crown Hill cemetery near Coldwater. Military services were in charge of the William H. Finney V. F. W. Post No. 7640.
