Obituary

Hulda Karoline Hecht was born in Smedjebacken, Sweden, July 4, 1891, and passed away May 30, 1957, in Coldwater, Kansas, at the age of 65 years, 10 months and 26 days. She moved with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. August Berg, to the United States and to Kackley, Kans., when she was three years of age. There she grew to young womanhood.

She was confirmed in the Ada Lutheran church and united with the Presbyterian church in Coldwater in March, 1915, when Rev. J. P. Halsell was pastor.

In 1914 she came to Coldwater and was united in marriage with Alvin H. Hecht on May 12 of that year. To this union were born five children: Victor of Haysville, Kans.; Lavera Harrell and Gail of Wichita, Kans., Clifford of Coldwater and Alvin Jr., of Jacksonville, Fla. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Henry C. Hecht of Wichita and Esther Berg of Kansas City, Mo.; one brother, Otto Berg, of Jamestown, Kans.; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. Her parents and two sisters preceded her in death. She leaves a host of relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Mrs. Hecht was a devoted and loving wife and mother and her kindliness endeared her to all who knew her.
