Russell J. Hubbard, six year old of Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Hubbard, of the New Eden neighborhood, died Wednesday evening at the Wesley Hospital. The body was brought to Wilmore Thursday and funeral services were conducted from the home this afternoon with the Rev. Ben H. Davis in charge. Burial was made in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Russell was taken to the hospital last Wednesday with a rising in his head. After entering the hospital it was discovered he had developed a serious case of diabetes. Doctors were not hopeful from the start, yet the child seemed on the road to recovery until Tuesday when the reversal came and he gradually grew weaker, passing away about two o'clock Wednesday.

The death of this child was one of the greatest shocks to the community in years. Although he had scarcely started on life's journey his pleasing personality had won for him the love and esteem of young and old alike.

To the bereaved parents and relatives the sincere sympathy of all go out in this sad hour of bereavement.

OBITUARY OF RUSSELL HUBBARD

Russell J. Hubbard was born June 12, 1921, at his home near Wilmore. He passed away at the St. Francis Hospital, Wichita, Kansas at 2 p.m., June 22, 1927, age six years, one week.

Until a short time ago Russell was apparently in good health, but his little body was violently seized by a dreadful disease, and in a very short time, Jesus, in his good providence, saw fit to call him from his suffering to be with Him.

He leaves to mourn his death, hs father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Hubbard; his sister, Ernestine; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Jessie Hubbard; and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Schneider; and a host of relatives and friends.

Russell was a happy, loving child, and a bright sunbeam in his home. He loved Sunday school and was a joy and inspiration to his teacher and classmates. His favorite song was "Jesus Bids Us Shine." His cheerful smile was a reflection of this heartfelt sentiment.
