Funeral services were held on Tuesday, November 7, 1961, at 2:00 p.m. in the Wilmore Baptist church at Wilmore, Kans., for Charles Edward Killillay, who passed away on Friday, November 3, 1961, at the age of 83. Rev. Ernest Lawrence, pastor, was in charge of the services.Walter Smith, accompanied by Mrs. Frances Ridge at the piano sang "When the Roll is Called up Yonder" and "I Won't Have to Cross Jordan Alone."
Pallbearers were Clair Cummings, Gerald Teter, John Kittell, Bill Morris, Paul Schmidt and Clarence Gillet.
Interment was in Wilmore Cemetery, Wilmore, Kansas.
Obituary Charles Edward Killillay was born on February 1, 1878 in Illinois, and passed away November 3, 1961, at Englewood, Colo., at the age of 83 years, 8 months and three days. He had been in failing health for about three years and had spent the last 20 months in a rest home. Mr. Killillay was a former Wilmore resident.
On September 19, 1901, he was united in marriage to Hannah Elsie Kindred. To this union were born six children: Myrtle I. Walker, Yuma, Ariz.; Elsie B. Counts, Meade, Kans.; Hazel L. Steward, Yuma, Ariz.; Everett F. Killillay, Pueblo, Colo.; Homer N. Killillay, Denver, Colo.; and Charles Ray Killillay now deceased. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Hannah.
He spent most of his life farming and railroading from which he retired several years ago.
He was baptized into the fellowship of the Wilmore Baptist church in December of 1917. At the time of his death he was a member of the Westwood Baptist church of Westwood, Colo.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his children, 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and one brother, Fred Killillay of Pleasanton, Iowa.
