Mary Ellen (Booth) Murphy

MARY ELLEN BOOTH IS TAKEN BY DEATH

Mary Ellen Booth, daughter of Samuel and Christina Booth, was born January 24, 1872 at Morris, Ill., and passed away at the farm home north of Wilmore, Kan., November 3, 1931, at the age of 59 years, nine months and nine days.

She came from Illinois with her parents, brothers and sisters in the year 1886. Remaining here for three years, she returned to Chicago, Ill., where she met and was married to Simons Murphy in 1895. To this union was born one daughter, Helene, who passed from this life at the age of five years at Kansas City, Mo. In the next year she moved with her husband to Omaha, Nebr., where they resided for a time, going back to Chicago where she lived for fourteen years.

Seven years ago, her health failing, she returned to Kansas to reside with her mother and sister at which place she passed away. She was preceded in death by her father and three brothers.

She leaves to mourn her departure her aged mother, six brothers, Jim, Sam, Will, Joe, Robert and Henry, all of Wilmore, Kan. Three sisters, Mrs. J. P. Griffin, Mrs. Harold Wood of Wilmore, and Mrs. Belle Hall of Belvidere, and a large circle of relatives and friends.
