Mrs. R. M. Cooper, her son, Asa, and daughters, Mrs. Fred Robbins and Mrs. Harbaugh Beeley, also Mr. Beeley, motored to Wichita on Sunday, March 13, and talked with Mrs. Cooper's son, George Cooper, and his wife, who live in Hollywood, Calif. George, who is a licensed short wave radio operator has a short wave station in his house. His station's call letters are W6PKK.By previous arrangement, George contacted Station W9CBN at the home of Paul Marks in Wichita at 2;30 p.m. on the above date. For some time a complete conversation was carried on between George and his relatives, but stormy weather caused some interference. The stations are on the 10 meter band. Mr. and Mrs. Vern Cooper were unable to make the trip to Wichita for the broadcast.
George is still employed as a sound technician by the Columbia Motion Picture Corporation.
