Carl Logan 'Junior' Snyder

Carl Logan "Junior" Snyder, 79, died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 1996, at Hill Top Nursing Home in Bucklin.

He was born Apr. 12, 1917, at Springfield, Mo., to Carl H. and Floy Logan Snyder.

He was a resident of the Wilmore area since shortly after his birth. Carl attended Wilmore Grade School and was a graduate of the Wilmore High School Class of 1935. He was a veteran of World war II, serving 26 months in the South Pacific with the United States Marine Corps.

He was a retired postmaster for the Wilmore Post Office, serving 20 years.

His memberships include the Wilmore Federated Church and the Masonic Lodge, both of Wilmore; the Veterans' of Foreign Wars of Coldwater, and he was a former mayor of Wilmore. Carl loved to fish and hunt in the area.

On Aug. 5, 1939, he married Rowena Booth at Dodge City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Clifford Snyder, a sister, Doris Potterton; and a granddaughter, Tandi Larae Synder.

Survivors include: his wife, of the home; two sons and their wives, Mike and Guyneth Snyder and Terry L. and Roberta Snyder, and a daughter, Patricia Snyder and her husband Neil Timmer, all of Wilmore; two sisters, Jean Taylor of Wichita and Eleanor Dage of Cullison; 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services were Thursday, Oct. 3, 1996, at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, with Rev. Barbara Palmer presiding. Burial is in the Wilmore cemetery, Wilmore.

Memorials may be sent to Kiowa County Home Health Agency in care of Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Box 417, Coldwater, Kans. 67029.
