Rowena Snyder

October 17, 1918 - October 13, 2005

Rowena Snyder, 86, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2005, at the Comanche County Hospital in Coldwater, Ks. Born October 17, 1918, at the Booth Farm Home in Kiowa County near Wilmore, Ks., the daughter of Robert and Effie (Maltby) Booth, she was a postal clerk.

She was nearly a lifetime resident of the Wilmore, Ks. area, living in California during World War II, during which time she worked at Lockheed Aircraft building airplanes. She attended Booth Country School and graduated from Wilmore High School. She was a member of the Wilmore Federated Church, where she served as a board member. She belonged to U.M.W., she was an officer for the Coldwater-Wilmore Library Board, and she enjoyed traveling.

On August 5, 1939, she married Carl L. Snyder, Jr., at Dodge City. Ks. He preceded her in death on October 1, 1996.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter, Tandi Snyder, two brothers: Lester and Robert Booth; one sister: Mabel Hadley; and one infant brother. She is survived by her two sons and their wives and her daughter and her husband and their respective families.

Funeral service is at 10:30 am. Saturday, October 15, 2005, at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater, Ks., with Rev. Sue Talbot presiding.

Burial will follow the funeral service at Wilmore Cemetery in Wilmore, Ks.

Memorials may be sent to Wilmore Federated Church or Wilmore Library in care of Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, P.O. Box 417, Coldwater, Ks.
