MRS. BLANCHE TOWNER OF PROTECTION DIES

Mrs. Blanche Towner, 77, died Saturday morning in a Coldwater hospital after a long illness.

She was born October 1, 1884, in Sumner county. Mrs. Towner lived on a farm north of Protection for 76 years.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Christian church and the PEO.

Mrs. Towner is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Melia, Johnstown, Colo.; two sons, Clermont and John, both of Wichita; two brothers, Fred Denny, Protection and Will Denny of Coldwater.

Funeral was held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Christian church with Rev. Delmar Burgess officiating. Burial was in the Protection Cemetery.


Note: she was the widow of C.C. Towner.
