On November 29, 1892 she was united in marriage to Arthur VanWey, who preceded her in death in 1953. To this union were born three sons: Elmer, who preceded her in death; Irtle S. and Henry W., both of Wichita.

VanWey of Protection, Kans., Ethel Flick of Huntington Park, Calif., Mayne Parker of Alma, Nebr., Mina Holbert of Chester, Okla., and Geneva Wightman of Houston, Texas. One sister, Berta Holland, preceded her in death. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

In her early girlhood she made her decision to accept Christ as her savior and throughout her life her daily living was an example of her Christian service to her Savior, family and neighbors. She was one of the pioneer members of the Protection Baptist Church and was active in the church as long as her health permitted.
