AMONG OUR BOYS.
Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Whitaker received word recently that their son, Dr. Wm. O. Whitaker, had arrived from France and would probably receive his discharge within a few weeks. He went to France last August being attached to the Medical Corps.
Among the soldiers who returned home last week were Ralph Tier and Lawrence York. Both had seen active service in France. Lawrence started home on February 12, arrived in New York on February 22, and reached his home in this county on Thursday of last week.
A postal card was received recently by Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Richardson, also one by Mrs. Melvin Parcel from a French lady stating that she and her family had been pleased and honored by having for their quest Lynn Richardson, a Comanche-co. soldier boy and expressing the greatest admiration for the American soldiers. Lynn is expected to arrive in some American port soon.
Carl Schenk arrived home on Wednesday from overseas, where he had spent three months in army service. He did not get to the front. While in France he underwent an operation and spent a few weeks in a hospital. His arrival home at this time was a surprise to his parents, as they had received no definite word as to when to expect him home. (SB)
